Accessibility Statement – BASI

1. Our approach

At BASI, we want our website to be usable for everyone—members, partners, and anyone interested in getting involved in snowsports.

We’re working to make basi.org.uk as accessible and inclusive as possible, and we’re continually improving how the site performs across different devices and accessibility needs.

2. How accessible the site is

We aim to meet recognised accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1 AA, where possible.

That said, we know some parts of the website aren’t fully there yet.

3. Known issues

We’re aware of a few areas that could be improved:

  • Some pages rely on dynamic content which may not always be fully accessible to screen readers
  • Certain form elements and booking flows could be difficult for keyboard-only users
  • Colour contrast and spacing may not meet standards in every instance
  • Some older documents (such as PDFs) may not be fully accessible

We’re actively working through these as part of ongoing improvements.

4. What we’re doing to improve

Accessibility is part of our ongoing development work. Current focus areas include:

  • Improving navigation and keyboard accessibility
  • Reviewing colour contrast and typography
  • Making forms and booking journeys clearer and easier to use
  • Ensuring new content meets accessibility standards
  • Updating or replacing older documents where needed

5. If you need help

If you’re having difficulty using the website, we’re here to help.

If you:

  • Can’t complete a booking
  • Can’t access information
  • Or experience any barriers using the site

Please get in touch and we’ll support you directly. This may include helping you complete a booking, providing information in a different format, or guiding you through the process.

6. Reporting accessibility issues

7. Enforcement procedure

If you’re not happy with how we respond to an accessibility concern, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) for further advice.

8. Technical information

BASI is committed to making its website accessible, in line with the Equality Act 2010.

We are working towards alignment with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 AA.

Some parts of the site use modern web technologies, and we’re working to ensure content remains accessible as these evolve.

9. Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 1 May 2026.

It is reviewed regularly and updated as improvements are made.
